The first session will be an opportunity for us to meet and for you to tell me a little about yourself, your life. what you are going through and how you are feeling. We can talk things through and see if we feel comfortable together and whether you think counselling with me might be of help. There is no obligation to carry on beyond this initial meeting. If we decide we can work together then we can agree on a regular time and day that is mutually convenient.
Counselling is generally attended on a weekly basis and each meeting lasts for 1 hour and can be short term 5 to 6 sessions or on a longer term basis. Often clients attend counselling for 5 and 6 weekly sessions and then decide that longer term ongoing support would be of help and so then attend on a fortnightly or monthly basis. It may be that fortnightly meetings offer the right pace, rhythm, thinking time and therapeutic value between meetings. We can discuss what might work best for you when we meet.
My standard fee is £35 per session. Reduced priced sessions are available for clients on a low income, benefits and for students and senior citizens. We can agree a fee that best meets your current financial situation.
The first counselling session is charged at a rate of £15 for the hour.
I am available from 11am to 8pm Monday to Friday.
WEEKEND APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE.
All meetings are in strict confidence with the proviso that as part of normal counselling practice and discipline I meet regularly
with an independent and experienced counselling supervisor to monitor that I am working safely, effectively and ethically.
